Now you have worked through Basic Training Courses Part 1 and 2, you are ready to start The Basic Training Course Part 3.

On this course, you will learn how the inlingua method is used in English books 1 and 2 including controlled discussions for practicing the language learned. The course aims to raise your awareness of the micro-skills of reading and listening in English books 1 and 2. You will learn the techniques for integrating listening, reading and, if needed, writing effectively in a lesson.
Trainers are required to work through each module. There are quizzes to be done and discussion board activities to be submitted. You will have to send a video of your lesson to be assessed or have a lesson observed by an experienced trainer to be awarded the certificate ( module 19).

How to Complete this Course Successfully

  1. The inlingua Language Trainer Certificate Course by distance learning works using a ‘flipped learning’ concept. This means you first have to study the module contents before you contribute to the discussion board or virtual classroom discussion.
  2. Follow the modules sections systematically and take your time to let the ideas and concepts sink in. The cognitive processes needed to gain the maximum from the course will be stimulated and started by the course content, but it may not be until you have been practicing as an inlingua language trainer for some time that their significance and value are realized in a practical sense.
  3. Prepare your discussion contributions separately in advance (e.g. in Word) before you paste them in. This will give you more time to think about what you are writing and give you a chance to structure your sentences effectively. Don’t worry too much about typos or small mistakes though, it is your thoughts that are important on this course.
